birdhouse home recordings is a collective based microlabel founded by 💜birbohex💜 (also known as kevin) in july of 2025, and co-managed by Pigeon Scratch. the goal of the label is to create high quality physical copies of releases previously limited or unreleased in analog form, and have all proceeds go to the artist themselves. birdhouse prides itself in owning no part of the music released by the artists it distributes, nor taking money from them unless explicitly allowed by said artist. in the age where artists are incapable of making a living wage due to streaming services providing inadequate payouts and are losing the rights to their own music when signed to major labels, kevin quickly grew in anger seeing the scene she once grew up in taken advantage of. to her, something had to be done about this. after partnering with Pigeon, she began reaching out to artist friends whom had not released physical copies before, and ones who couldn't afford distribution on streaming platforms. the vision of birdhouse was quickly forming into a reality.
as of late 2025, birdhouse has over ten digital releases, "signed" nine artists, and is preparing for its first major physical run.
